Finding the right strap size makes a big difference in how your watch looks, feels, and wears day to day. This guide walks you through how to measure your wrist and watch lug width, and explains how our strap dimensions and styles are designed to fit most wrists comfortably.
Whether you’re upgrading your everyday watch or switching things up with a new look, these steps will help ensure the best possible fit.
Measuring Your Wrist
Knowing your wrist size helps you understand how much strap length you’ll have once installed and how the strap will sit on your wrist.
What you’ll need
- A soft measuring tape
- Or a strip of paper and a ruler
How to measure
- Wrap the measuring tape (or paper) around your wrist where you normally wear your watch.
- Make sure it’s snug, but not tight.
- Note the measurement in inches or millimeters.
This measurement is mainly used to understand how much excess strap you’ll have once installed — our straps are intentionally cut long to accommodate a wide range of wrist sizes.
Measuring Your Watch Lug Width
The lug width is the most important measurement when choosing a strap. This determines which strap width will fit your watch.
How to measure
- Turn your watch over.
- Measure the inner distance between the lugs (where the spring bars attach).
- Choose a strap that matches that exact width.
Common lug widths
- 20 mm
- 22 mm
Your strap should match your lug width exactly for a clean, secure fit.
Our Strap Dimensions & Specifications
All of our straps share the same core dimensions and materials, designed for durability, comfort, and versatility.
Specifications
- Width: 20 mm or 22 mm
- Thickness: 1.2 mm
- Length: 280 mm (11 inches)
- Material: Premium woven nylon
- Hardware: Brushed stainless steel
This length is intentional — it allows for proper threading on both single-pass and double-pass styles, with enough tail to tuck cleanly.
Single-Pass vs. Double-Pass Fit
While both styles use the same strap dimensions, they wear slightly differently on the wrist.
Single-Pass
- Threads under the watch using a single layer of nylon
- Lower profile on the wrist
- Clean, simple look
- Ideal for everyday wear and slimmer watches
Double-Pass (Military-Inspired)
- Wraps under the watch and back over itself
- Adds an extra layer of security
- Slightly taller profile on the wrist
- Great for tool watches and sport watches
Both styles are designed to fit a wide range of wrist sizes comfortably using the same strap length.
How the Strap Should Fit
A properly fitted strap should:
- Sit centered on your wrist
- Feel secure without pinching
- Allow excess length to be tucked cleanly into the keepers
- Lay flat against the wrist without twisting
If you have a smaller wrist, you’ll have more tail to tuck. If you have a larger wrist, the strap will still provide enough length for a secure, balanced fit.
